Megaworld to Open Four New Hotels in 2017

Manila, Philippines—In a bid to further boost tourism in its various developments across the country, property developer Megaworld will open four new hotels this year: the Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Iloilo City; Savoy Hotel Boracay in Boracay; Savoy Newport Hotel in Pasay City, and Hotel Lucky Chinatown in Binondo, Manila.

“We see tourism as a potential driver of grown for Megaworld as we draw more people to our developments,” said Megaworld Senior Vice President Kevin Tan in a statement.

“Within the next three to five years, we hope to see a bigger slice of hotel earnings in our revenue pie as we open our new hotels,” he said.

Strategically located beside the Iloilo Convention Center, the 15-story Marriott Courtyard Hotel, the first Marriott brand to open in the Western Visayas, will offer 326 rooms.

The Savoy Hotel in Boracay, a 559-room resort hotel in the 150-hectare Boracay Newcoast development, will feature the country’s first concert pool arena, which is capable of hosting events in a pool setting.

Neighboring Resorts World Manila, the 11-story Savoy Newport Hotel, on the other hand, will offer 684 rooms.

In Binondo, Manila, the six-story Hotel Lucky Chinatown will offer 93 rooms, which are meant for Chinese tourists and businessmen.

To date, Megaworld owns three homegrown hotel brands namely Richmonde Hotel, Belmont Hotel, and Savoy Hotel.  The company is operating three Richmonde Hotels in Eastwood City, Ortigas Center, and Iloilo Business Park, and one Belmont Hotel in Newport City. Three more hotels are being developed within the next five years in the company’s various townships.
