Manila, Philippines—CentralHub Industrial Centers Inc., the industrial leasing subsidiary of DoubleDragon Properties Corp., has completed the first ever CentralHub prototype of its future industrial warehouses across the Philippines.

“The prototype is designed to provide a maximum flexibility for its users such as commissaries, cold storages, light manufacturing, and logistics distribution centers,” said DoubleDragon Chairman Edgar Sia II.

CentralHub is envisioned to become the leading provider of industrial warehouses in the country through the development of its first eight (8) CentralHub sites by 2020, which include North, Central, and South Luzon, Iloilo, and Mindanao.

The CentralHub in Tarlac (Central Luzon) and Iloilo alone will provide approximately 5.4 hectares or 54,000 square meters of leasable industrial space.

“While most of the attention has been focused on the soft side of logistics and e-commerce, we focus on the hard physical structures that will serve as the support system that all logistics and e-commerce players will need. The current supply of provincial warehouses is not e-commerce suited and the industry is very fragmented with none of the major players owning a portfolio of industrial warehouse complexes in the provincial areas of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. As such, we see a great opportunity to be able to dominate the industrial leasing industry in the near-term,” said DoubleDragon Chief Investment Officer Hannah Yulo.

Industrial leasing is one of DoubleDragon’s four pillars of growth, which also include provincial retail leasing (CityMalls), office leasing (DD Meridian Park), and hospitality (Hotel 101).
