Manila, Philippines–DoubleDragon Plaza in DD Meridian Park, Pasay City, has received its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold green building certification.

Given by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the certification recognizes the best-in-class green building design strategies and practices such as reduced construction waste, increased recycled content, and improved water usage and indoor air quality.

“In addition to the newly inaugurated 1,098-panel high-efficiency solar installation atop DoubleDragon Plaza, the entire complex uses double-glazed glass windows, LED or natural lighting whenever possible, and maintains three outdoor garden decks, among other green building features,” said DoubleDragon Chair Edgar Sia II.

“DoubleDragon Plaza is designed to have a lasting positive impact on its occupants while promoting renewable clean energy. DoubleDragon upholds a strong sense of corporate social responsibility and always endeavors to build sustainable eco-friendly structures that will blend well with the community and remain productive and relevant in the next 100 years,” Sia added.

The first five office towers in DD Meridian Park is now 100% leased out and currently hosts over 20,000 employees of its tenants such as Jollibee, Chowking, J.Co Donuts, and Baskin Robbins. The tenant employee population is expected to grow to over 50,000 by the end of next year, which will further boost the customer base of its retail tenants.
