It has been recognized as the shoe capital of the Philippines; acknowledged as the Most Competitive City, cleanest, and greenest city in the country; and awarded as one of Asia Pacific’s healthiest and most livable towns.

If you think Marikina is just the home of the world’s largest pair of shoes, then you have to come here yourself to discover the other attractions the city has to offer.

For Sports Enthusiasts

Marikina Sports Center, one of the premier sports facilities in the country, provides lots of sports activities and equipment for sports enthusiasts, whether it’s jogging, running, biking, or skating.

The center also has camping sites and picnic grounds, where families can have a bountiful meal while watching different sports. You can learn tae bo moves, too, while your mother and father attend zumba classes and play badminton, respectively.

The center is also a popular venue for regional, national, and international sports competitions.

For Nature Lovers

If you’re a nature lover or a butterfly lover, in particular, you can “spread your wings” and “fly” to the World of Butterflies, which is one of the most popular attractions in the city, especially among the residents and their children.  Kids will surely enjoy this place as the colorful butterflies are very pleasing to the eyes.

The World of Butterflies also hosts birthday parties and wedding receptions.  If you want your wedding celebration to be more romantic and memorable, consider this venue. Let the swarms of butterflies surround you with love, joy, and amazement.
