Living in the metro can be exhausting. But the advent of the newest central business district in Taguig, the 240-hectare Bonifacio Global City (BGC), is slowly changing that notion.
BGC is famed for its high-end establishments, which proved to be enticing to visitors, shoppers, and trippers alike. Its high-rise residential areas and booming business centers may be dominating the skyline, but there’s more to BGC than what meets the eye.
Despite the mushrooming of tall buildings in BGC, this neighborhood is a lot cleaner, safer compared to other places in Metro Manila. It’s definitely safe to walk around here at night.
Lush greenery abounds here, too. That’s why many of its visitors and residents find comfort in the public parks around the community—kids and their families, for instance, walk and jog; engage in other fitness activities; play with their dogs; and enjoy picnics in these parks.
Shopping complexes such as Market! Market! and Bonifacio High Street also have parks of their own; the former even features topiaries meticulously shaped as animals.
BGC is highly recommended for children.
While adults can take pleasure in shopping, dining, bar hopping, and other luxuries, kids, on the other hand, can enjoy fun and educational activities designed specially for their young age. For one, you can take the kids to the Mind Museum, where they can enjoy and learn myriad things. The museum also features an interactive playground, where children can meet new playmates.
And what’s more, if your kids love the arts, you can bring them to the Global Art Center. The center exposes four-year-olds and above to different kinds of arts, which can serve as an invaluable inspiration to budding young artists.
Refined, but Reasonable
Shopaholics and party lovers can’t go wrong with BGC. Luxurious malls, expansive shopping centers, and various retail shops are around the corner. Market! Market!, SM Aura, Serendra, Piazza, Bonifacio High Street, and Venetian Mall are all located here.
Go spoil yourself and your loved ones in trendy restaurants, al fresco bars, exquisite cafes and pasty shops galore. If you want to drink and relax at night, but you’re not comfortable with the noise and spotlight, you can hang out alone or with your closest friends in one of the private luxury bars in the area.
However, if you’re on a budget, you can still have fun in BGC. In those popular malls, there are fast food chains and hawkers’ areas, which serve affordable food. There are also stalls and shops that sell inexpensive items.
Comfy and Livable
With all those high-rise condominiums and other residential places in BGC, you have a lot of options when looking for a perfect home here. To start with, you can check out McKinley Hill. This 50-hectare residential zone is a mixed-use development with large shopping centers and retail stores.
