Manila, Philippines–Elha Nympha, 11-year-old banana cue vendor, mentored by singer-songwriter Bamboo Mañalac, was declared the grand champion of the second season of ABS-CBN’s top-rated show “The Voice Kids” Sunday night.  She received 42.16% of the public votes in a two-night grand final showdown.

As the newest “The Voice Kids” grand champion (last season’s winner was 10-year-old Lyca Gairanod), Elha won a house and lot worth P2 million from Camella Homes, a recording contract from MCA Music Inc., a music instrument package, a shopping spree pegged at P100,000, a family utility vehicle, P1 million cash, and P1 million trust fund.

“I’m happy and I didn’t expect to win; I’m very happy because it’s my first time to win in this kind of competition,” said Elha in a statement from ABS-CBN.

Elha, Mañalac’s first mentored artist who won in the show, beat Tony winner Lea Salonga’s young artists Reynan Dal-anay, who got 31.64% of the public votes, and Esang De Torres (18.16%), as well as fellow teammate Sassa Dagdag (8.04%).

Her winning piece was OPM song “Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin,” originally sung by Martin Nievera, composed by Cecile Azarcon.

The second season of “The Voice Kids” was the most watched TV program in the Philippines in June and July. It recorded an all-time high national TV rating of 46.3%, according to KantarMedia.
