Whether you love science, arts, or culture, you’ll surely enjoy spending time in museums as they showcase the arts, traditions, and culture of Filipinos as well some amazing inventions and displays. Essentially, you will never run out of things to learn from these places.  They’re not only educational but they’re also entertaining.

There are lots of museums in Metro Manila but here are some of which you should definitely see:

The Mind Museum

The Mind Museum, an interactive science museum, is one of the most popular and most visited museums located in Taguig City.  It has been offering a lot of astounding exhibitions to its guests, who are mostly students since it opened in 2012.  Because there are lots of things to learn inside the museum, it has become a favorite place among excursionists and even foreign tourists.

The Mind Museum boasts five galleries namely Life, Earth, Universe, Atom, and Technology.  These galleries have 250 interactive stations where visitors learn about science particularly about elements such as water, the wind, earth, and the sun.  There’s also a park consisting of play pockets namely Living, Math, Music, and Water, and another park named J.Y. Campos Park where one can see different plant species.  For those who have questions, the “Mind Movers” are there to address them.

Yuchengco Museum

Located in a busy district in Makati City, Yuchengco Museum proves that despite the daily hustle and bustle in the metro, one can still find relaxation and peace of mind.  Since it was built in 2005, it never failed to amaze its visitors through eye-catching and astonishing works of art. Business tycoon Alfonso Yuchengco, the owner of the museum, launched the facility to show his appreciation of Filipino arts and culture and at the same time inspire budding Filipino artists.  The museum also aims to entertain and educate visitors, thus helping them enrich their knowledge of Philippine arts.

There are lots to see in Yuchengco Museum including the masterpieces of renowned Filipino artists such as Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, Napoleon Abueva, Carlos Francisco, Cesar Legaspi, and the owner himself, Mr. Yuchengco.  Apart from the works of art, the museum also exhibits old books, maps, photographs, medals, and other mementos of the Philippine-American war.

Ayala Museum

Also located in the heart of Makati City, Ayala Museum speaks of grandeur and magnificence.  As a private museum, it’s not often crowded compared to the other museums so guests will surely feel relaxed as they witness the beauty and splendor of the place, especially its wonderful collections.

Ayala Museum has lots to offer. Like Yuchengco Museum, it also has a collection of well-crafted works of art by famous Filipino artists such as vibrant and emblematic paintings.  Apart from these, guests are often impressed by dioramas that represent Philippine history.  Another thing that’s a must-see for anyone is the maritime vessels collection of gauzily-crafted ship models, which were collected to honor primeval boats. There are also ethnographic relics of old Filipino communities such as clothes, gold ornaments, weapons, tools, and musical instruments that bring back the way of life of ancient Filipinos.
