Manila, Philippines—Armed with energy-efficient and healthy spaces, Menarco Tower, a boutique office development in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), is the first building in the Philippines to register for WELL certification, which measures and monitors the performance of building features that impact the users’ health and well-being through air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind.

The WELL certification was issued by the International WELL Building Institute in Washington, D.C.

“Getting certified for WELL is a natural offshoot of what we’ve envisioned for Menarco Tower.  We wanted Menarco to be a place where you can do excellent work, which is why we have thought of the smallest details for the users of the building.  Providing a healthy environment has always been a priority,” said Carmen Jimenez Ong, managing director of Menarco Development Corp.

“We know that in an office, when someone gets sick, the whole office gets sick.  So our air conditioners are equipped to pump pre-cooled, fresh, filtered air to eliminate the sick building syndrome.  And that’s in addition to our dedicated wellness floor, a food court with healthy options, and a medical clinic with a lifeline ambulance access,” she added.

WELL works hand-in-hand with LEED, a premier green building certification program, to ensure that office buildings are not only good for people but also for the environment.

Menarco Tower is pre-certified for LEED Gold.
