Manila, Philippines—The highly anticipated arts and crafts event titled “Art Exchange” (#ArtExchangeManila) opened last Wednesday, April 19, at Greenbelt 5’s The Gallery. Through the “Art Exchange,” The Craft Central, which has organized the event, is bringing Filipino ingenuity in the arts and crafts accessible to everyone!

Visited by many young aspiring artists, crafters, and art enthusiasts, “Art Exchange” successfully kicked off its week-long art immersion, which includes art workshops, live demonstrations, a bazaar, and an exhibit. Its opening ceremonies were led by The Craft Central Founder Alexis Ventura and her sister and the event’s host, Monique Ventura. Greenbelt’s Marketing and Operations Manager Gilda Rosales and new online art shop FilipinoArt.ph’s Managing Director Yuri Stegeman, who also manages the online property search portal PropertyAsia.ph, cut the ceremonial ribbon.

FilipinoArt.ph has opted to hold its soft launch at “Art Exchange.” The website is arguably the first Philippine-based online marketplace for up-and-coming Filipino visual artists to showcase their artworks that are for sale.  While browsing the prototype of FilipinoArt.ph, young artist Arman Manalo said, “This website is perfect for young artists—with or without formal training—in showcasing and selling their artworks. This will help us a lot!”

Made possible PropertyAsia.ph, the online art shop encourages Filipino homeowners and art lovers to support young Filipino artists by buying their original or printed artworks.

“Art Exchange” runs until Tuesday, April 25.
