Eco-Friendly Hotel to Rise in Boracay

Manila, Philippines—Eco-friendly Hotel101 Resort-Boracay will soon rise on the beachfront of the 150-hectare Boracay Newcoast. a Megaworld tourism estate development.

The planned hotel resort will have 1,001-rooms, which is touted the biggest number so far in terms of hotel room count in the Philippines.

“Our group is proud to be working with DoubleDragon [Properties] to launch the biggest green hotel in the Philippines,” said Newcoast South Beach Chairman Enrique Gonzalez.

“Boracay enjoys global popularity and the upgrading of Caticlan airport provides favorable macros. We’re one of the best beachfront properties within the best master-planned development on the island, located on one of the best beaches in the world. As the maxim goes, it’s location, location, location,” he said.

Additionally, DoubleDragon Chairman Edgar Injap Sia II said, “We envision Hotel101 to [be] … significantly contributing to the recurring income of DoubleDragon, and at the same time providing the market with an innovative, safe, and secure investment platform.”

This hotel development will have top amenities such as room suites with balconies, expansive retail and food and beverage offerings, pool and outdoor decks, a business center, meeting rooms, and a function hall.

The project will also adopt sustainable best practices from design to implementation and adopt sustainable practices to reduce and reuse energy, waste, and water.

Hotel101 Resort-Boracay is a joint venture project of Hotel of Asia Inc, a subsidiary of DoubleDragon Properties Corp., a property company affiliated with the Jollibee and Mang Inasal fast food chains, and Newcoast South Beach Inc.

This is the fourth development under the Hotel101 brand, following similar projects in Manila, Taguig City, and Davao City.
