Laguna, Philippines—Publicly-listed real estate developer Arthaland recently broke ground at Sevina Park in Biñan City, Laguna. This Arthaland mixed-used community aims to be sustainable and strives to get the nod of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design’s (LEED) neighborhood development certification team.

Master planned by US-based design firm Sasaki Associates Inc., Sevina Park is an 8.1-hectare township, which is near the soon-to-open Laguna Boulevard interchange of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).

Envisioned to be a modern-day community, Sevina Park’s commercial areas consist of sustainable offices and retail shops. Its residential areas, on the other hand, comprise of dormitories for students, low-rise apartments and lofts, and townhouse villas designed by Leandro V. Locsin and partners whose founder, Mr. Locsin, was proclaimed a National Artist of the Philippines for Architecture in 1990.

All the villas at Sevina Park Villas, which will be launched this month and scheduled for turnover in 2021, are energy efficient, Wi-Fi-enabled, and home automation-ready. The bigger four-bedroom villas have additional sustainable features, though, which include a provision for solar panels, enhanced indoor air quality, and the use of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified wood.
