Iloilo, Philippines—Township developer Megaworld is set to open its transport hub, budgeted at P350 million, in the Iloilo Business Park this year.

Named Iloilo Business Park Transport Hubs, the facility, located along Megaworld Boulevard, will have two terminals: one for departures, the other for arrivals—occupying 4,000 square meters each. The terminals have travelers’ lounges equipped with shower rooms and a food park for both departing and arriving passengers.

The travelers’ lounge at the departure terminal, more specifically, will have ticketing booths, breastfeeding stations, and free WiFi access.

At the second and third level of each terminal, 200 parking slots will be made available for free.

“We aim to provide world-class and convenient service in land transport for the local and international travelers in and out of Iloilo City. Hopefully, this will serve as a model for other transport hubs in the region,” says Jose Arnulfo Batac, Megaworld’s head of estate management.

In line with Megaworld’s transport hub plans, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 6 is rolling out the first 106 Premium Point-to-Point Buses in Western Visayas tomorrow, July 11, with the Iloilo Business Park as its main hub on Panay Island.

“We thank the LTFRB Region 6 for this partnership, and we hope that we are able to contribute to the success of this modernization campaign for the betterment of the country’s transport industry. All of our townships, especially those in urban centers, serve as convergence points of motorists and commuters. Thus, we integrate transport hubs in our developments to meet the transport needs of the local community,” Batac explains.
