Baguio City, which is part of Benguet province, is approximately 250 kms north of Manila. Over the past few decades, the city has morphed from what was once a grassy marshland into one of the cleanest, greenest, and most urbanized cities in the Philippines. Apart from its moniker "Summer Capital of the Philippines," it's also called the "City of Pines."
Baguio City is accessible by land via Quirino Highway, Kennon Road, and Marcos Highway. The Loakan Airport in Barangay Loakan, on the other hand, is easily accessible by air.
When in Baguio City, tourists on a shoestring budget have an array of affordable homestay accommodations to choose from: A stay in a transient house in Baguio City has been highly recommended for years by the locals and regular visitors. The owners of a transient home usually provide clean bedrooms, quality service, and prompt answers to queries.
In some cases, a transient house for rent in Baguio City does not only offer accommodation but also local tour packages. For travelers that want to stay longer, there are Baguio apartments for rent. For those that plan to settle permanently in the "City of Pines" because of its cool climate, there are, of course, house for sale in Baguio.
In the same vein, Baguio City's counterpart in the Visayas region, Cebu City, "Queen City of the South," also offers house and lot for sale in Cebu within the same price range.
