Baguio City, a highly urbanized city located in the northern part of Luzon, is the center of commerce and education as well as the seat of the local government in this region.
At 5,200 feet above sea level, Baguio City, similar to Tagaytay in Cavite City, enjoys a cool climate. Naturally, it has been a favorite getaway destination for both local and foreign tourists during the long, hot summer months.
In the 1900s, American architect Daniel Burnham built a health and recreation resort for American soldiers, which prompted the rapid urban growth in the area. Baguio City real estate continued to improve and expand: new roads were constructed; hotels, serviced apartments, and transient houses in Baguio cropped up on nearly every corner.
To date, Baguio City never fails to amaze her all-year-round visitors who get to experience a variety of cultural, historical, educational, and shopping attractions and activities. The Baguio Cathedral, which is located on top of a hill, provides a picture perfect view of the city. The crowded Session Road and Burnham Park have plenty of thrift shops and other commercial establishments. Camp John Hay, a former rest and recreation facility for American soldiers, has been converted into a handsome resort. The Tam-Awan Village, on the other hand, still showcases native cogon-thatched cottages made by local artists.
Further, the city is the quintessential destination for honeymooners. The newlyweds who choose to start their own families here will be amazed by the sheer number of houses for sale in Baguio City as well as house and lots for sale in Baguio.
