A highly urbanized area, the National Capital Region (NCR), also known as Metro Manila, is made up of 16 cities and municipalities such as Makati, Taguig, Quezon, Mandaluyong, Pasay, Caloocan, Muntinlupa, Las Pinas, Marikina, Malabon, Navotas, Pateros, San Juan, Manila, and Paranaque. With a total land area of 619.5 km2 and more than 12,877,253 residents, NCR is made up of a myriad of industries, commercial establishments, and residential communities. It is also the center of economics, government, education, culture, entertainment, fashion, and research and technology in the country. Its economic power is seen in its innumerable skyscrapers and establishments.
Because NCR is the heart of commerce and industries in the Philippines, many people from different parts of the country move here for bigger opportunities. While many people move to Manila to seek for jobs, some come here to enjoy, have fun, and explore the metro. Fortunately, NCR has lots of things to offer both locals and tourists.
When it comes to shopping, NCR is very popular because of its wide array of shopping malls and shopping centers. The most popular is the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay, which is the second largest mall in Asia. Other popular shopping destinations are Resorts World Manila, Bonifacio High Street, Market! Market!, The Landmark, Greenbelt, SM Aura Premier, Trinoma, SM Megamall, The Podium, and Shangri-La Plaza. For people who want to shop more for less, Greenhills Shopping Center is the place to be; it offers affordable items and allows the shoppers to haggle.
For foodies, NCR has lots to offer. In fact, it takes pride in the numerous fine dining restaurants and affordable food destinations around the region. Some of the most visited restaurants here are Vikings, Blackbird, Marriott Café, Spiral, People's Palace, Movie Stars Café, and Hummus Elijah. The nightlife in NCR is also blissful with the presence of countless bars and nightclubs that include Hard Rock Café, G Point Smorgasbord and Bar, Kipling's Cigar Bar, Giraffe, and Blue Onion Bar.
Despite its large population, NCR has lots of residential spaces for people who want to experience the fun and comfort of living in the metro. One can choose the perfect home from the metro's great selection of house and lots, condominiums, and other real estate properties. For single people, condominiums are ideal because of their privacy and convenience. But for starting families, investing in a house and lot for sale in NCR is the best thing to do.
