Manila, Philippines–Singaporean furniture brand Commune has opened its flagship store in the country at the Shangri-la Plaza Mall (Level 6, East Wing). The brand is known for its home and artisanal wooden furniture that combine both form and function.

Audrey Ngui, who brought Commune to the Philippines, said they chose the brand because of its quality. Its designs are superior but the prices are affordable; it also uses sustainable and ethically-sourced American wood. “Its premium wood furniture has a modern and trendy aesthetic that’s perfect for the Filipino urban apartment sizes,” Ngui said.

“We believe our furniture represents the changing tastes of younger generations and introduces a home-making lifestyle that’s ethical, sustainable, yet trendy and chic,” said Sales and Marketing Director of Commune Gan Shee Wen.

He added, “We focus on wood furniture, minimizing lead and formaldehyde content in our production for environmental safety purposes, as well as focus on the natural materials that are friendly to the environment.”

At the store, Commune engages its consumer’s five senses: sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste through beautiful visual merchandising displays; excellent curation of wood furniture paired with modern accessories, which customers are encouraged to touch; a customized in-store fragrance, and a café experience that brings out a cozy, homey atmosphere.

Interestingly, Commune offers an in-store 3D interior planning and simulation service, which enables the homeowners to take a sneak peek of their home with the Commune furniture before buying them.
