Besides being one of the most urbanized regions in the Philippines, the City of Manila is also known for its numerous historical sites such as the walled city of Intramuros, the oldest Chinatown in the world, which is located in Binondo, and the customarily venerated Dr. Jose Rizal monument in Rizal Park.
Akin to a University Town, several prestigious universities are quite near each other, which include the University of the Philippines-Manila, University of Santo Tomas, and Far Eastern University. A large number of the students in these schools live in dormitories and apartment for rent in Manila, and thus explains the steady rise of properties for rent from row apartments to high-rise condormitels (all-in-one condominium, dormitory, and hotel).
In addition to the apartments and vertical developments in the area, there are plenty of horizontal developments or house and lots for sale in Metro Manila, especially in the City of Manila, which is the capital city’s largest district in terms of land area at 38.55 km2.
Top real estate developers DMCI, Filinvest Land, and Ayala Land have interests in residential properties in the City of Manila. These projects involve the construction of low-cost housing projects and gated communities, and the restoration of ancestral houses in the old district of Santa Ana.
